- My name is Yasmin Coleman and I am the founder of APOOO Books. APOOO was established in 2006 as a bookclub at the insistence of two friends who were also amazon.com reviewers and looking for a place to discuss books. Even tho' there were many online bookclubs...there were not many that were actively discussing books. APOOO filled that void. Shortly after the bookclub, www.apooo.org was created so that APOOO could bring the 411 regarding African American Literature.
Since then, APOOO has grown and today includes the BookClub, review team (APOOO Exchange Team), bookstore (APOOO Bookstore) and the most recent arm APOOO Connections. APOOO CONNECTIONS is the publicity arm and we will connect authors and readers as we spread the word about African American authors, books and literary events.
Yasmin Coleman is a reader, reviewers, bookseller, book publicist, wife, mother of two, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha and the Director of Marketing for a major state agency. Yasmin has 20 years of experience in marketing, advertising, promotions and publicity and has horned her craft via stints with several Fortune 500 packaged goods companies.

For the first half of my life I spent it in misery as I only contemplated failure and lack. But now that my mind has been freed from that bondage I can serve others more fully now.
